Which Saddle
The Cinesaddle family is divided into two categories, the Pro Series and the Basic Series. The Pro Series is top of the range, equipped with multiple storage compartments and a mounting kit. The Basic Series consists of two budget models for camera operators who do not require a fully featured saddle.
Pro Series
Saddles in the Pro Series are available in 3 sizes; however any Cinesaddle will work with any camera. The rule of thumb is to order:
A Cinesaddle for professional film & video cameras
A Minisaddle for consumer DV cameras & camcorders
A Babysaddle for palm video and still cameras
All of the above saddles are manufactured with an internal pouch, which can be used as a storage compartment for DV size cameras or bulky accessories. Saddles with an internal pouch are identified as “Marsupials”.
The full size Cinesaddle is available in two versions, one with a pouch and one without one. If you have no use for this additional storage compartment, order The Original Australian Cinesaddle.
Basic Series

These “no frills” models are perfect for customers who do not require the functionality of the Professional Series. They are smaller in size, have less padding, no pockets or pouches and are manufactured with only a wrist strap. A mounting kit is available as an optional extra.
Available in 2 sizes, the Tiny Saddle and the Micro Saddle are designed to provide a simple way to achieve rock steady results anywhere without the need to lug a tripod around. |
It is also possible to use these saddles as a substitute for a fluid head and quick release mount on a tripod when the shooter has to move quickly.
Basic Saddles are recommended for cameras no larger than Mini DV in size.
